General Tips for Submitting Applications
|
- Proposals must start in the correct financial year for the call (e.g. for the October – November 2010 Industry Call, proposals must start between 1 July 2011 to 30 June 2012).
- Specify the industry/industries funding the proposal in the Details section and their outline their percentage benefit split in the using the Add Industry link.
- When selecting the Industry for your proposal, use MT for proposals that are funded by more than one industry. HG proposals are not industry-specific and are for General Horticulture proposals.
- When adding Resources, proposals can only have one Project Leader and one Administrator listed, however these can be the same person.
- In the Background section, make sure you elaborate on the literature review you’ve conducted on this topic, as it is an important consideration when assessing your proposal (it also helps eliminate duplication of research work).
- In the Outcomes section, give a detailed analysis on the potential return on investment for your proposal, and for those with values over $500,000, be prepared to submit a Benefit Cost Analysis document.
- In the Industry Adoption section, ensure you’re aware of the technology transfer mechanisms available to industry and consider these channels when outlining how to extend your research results.
- Remember to upload your supporting documents in the Attachments section, such as VC Pledge Letters and Benefit Cost Analyses.
- For each item listed in the Budget Justification, ensure you provide a reasonable and thorough justification for the cost to the project.
- In the Proposed Budget section, ensure the Total Funds for the Project amount matches the Full Cost in the Budget Justification, and that the Total Funds Managed by HAL amount matches the HAL Component of the Budget Justification.
- Milestones 101 and 190 are automatically created by the system and should not be deleted. If this does occur, contact Nina Phanekham on 02 8295 2311 to have this corrected. Note you should allocate 20% of the project budget to the final 190 milestone.
